TEACHERS!!! Would you like to experience over 15 amazing colonial history sites directly related to South Carolinaβs involvement in the Revolutionary War & gain innovative teaching skills for your classroom, all while earning 3 graduate credit hours or 60 renewal credits?
If so, the Colonial Charleston Teacher Institute was created just for you!
Join us this coming June for a graduate level course through The College of Charleston that includes site visits to a variety of Lowcountry historical sites with topic specific presentations and Zoom classes. Gain a solid understanding of our stateβs impact on the Revolutionary War and discover how you can bring this era to life for your students in any grade level or curricular area!
Twenty-five scholarships of $400 each will be awarded to the most qualified applicants. Eight of these scholarships include housing and will be granted to teachers living in more distant areas of the state. All scholarship recipients will only be required to pay $150 plus $5.00 processing fee to register with the College of Charleston for the course. Applicants must be actively teaching any grade level or subject and be in possession of a current SC teacherβs certificate.

Applications will be received between March 1 and March 14, 2025, with the top 25 applicants chosen on May 15, 2025. Teachers winning a scholarship must pay $155 between May 15-20
